Que pasa??
So considering the wifi crisis I've been having I ventured out with my roommate this evening to Mcdonalds to snag some internet. While I was there I decided I had to take advantage of the cerveza (beer) that is sold there. And if you're now imagining drunken toddlers chompin' on happy meals, not the case (as funny as it is to picture). My roommate Alicia arrived on Sunday after a trip to Portugal and I could not be happier to have someone else around to share confused looks when Lola rattles off a few sentences at the dinner table.
I'd say my comprehension level is at about 40% of whatever she is saying (getting better!).I have slightly embarrassing moments in which I will answer her from my bedroom only to realize that she is talking on the phone. Woops. I am learning a lot from mealtime convos, in addition to the perpetual presence of some sort of television program. TV during lunch and dinner? A lady after my own heart. Mostly news programs covering celebrities/fashion/sports/current events.
Classes started on Monday and I can't say they've been too grueling. I'm in an intensive period now in which I have one class every day for 3 1/2 hours, as well as one culture class that meets weekly. What's more vigorous is the walk to class, which averages 40 minutes. Big news though, I purchased a bus pass for when my weeny little legs just can't take it. There are perks to walking however, great for people watching, or should I say adorable babies in personal sleeping bags being pushed around in strollers watching. Seriously, I nearly OD on cuteness daily.
The weekend brings about more interesting things; on Saturday I'll be taking a day trip to Cordoba and next weekend will be spent in Madrid! Tomorrow is a tour of the Catedral (giant, ornate cathedral in the middle of the city) and that should be neat!! I PROMISE I will update soon after with pictures, including a really exciting one of my teensy little bedroom.
70 degrees and sunny tomorrow, maybe I'll just wear my bathing suit...
Un besito,
